After Finale article:Of Height and Haircuts
Here's a cute article I dug up, dated from right after the Show Finale. The finalists(bar Donyelle) get haircuts and Heidi is ever so sweet. She wishes for two winners! I think that says a lot. Read into it...

Travis Wall, please call your mom.
That's the bottom line for the proud but tired mother of the proud but tired finalist on Fox's "So You Think You Can Dance."
The 18-year-old from
Judges had made it clear throughout the competition that Travis was a strong contender.
But Benji Schwimmer of
Schwimmer based on audience votes from the week before. According to Fox, nearly 16 million people voted.
When 22-year-old Benji's name was called, Travis bowed to the crowd and, foot in hand, pulled his leg to his shoulder. Accepting a bouquet, he grinned and walked off.
An emotional Benji, openly sobbing, accepted congratulations from the show's Top 20 competitors who'd been invited back for the season finale.
Then all heck and confetti broke loose.
"We only got to see Travis for five minutes afterward," said his mother, Denise Wall, by phone from
When she arrived for the show Wednesday, she said, people were in line, fighting to get tickets; even contestants' tickets were limited.
Wall also had hoped to see more of her son the night she arrived in
Travis' spikey, buzz-striped 'do helped him stand out onstage. At 5 feet 7 1/2 inches, he also was the shortest of the male competitors.
"That's why my hair is so tall now," he said in a recent interview. "I'm trying to add to my height!"
While they were at the salon, said Wall, Heidi remarked that she wished there could be two winners, suggesting they should be Travis and Benji.
Benji was talented and her cousin, she said, but Travis had helped her grow as a dancer.
When the four finalists were allowed to choose and repeat their favorite couples dance of the season for the finale, Travis chose the pasodoble he and Heidi had performed.
"Every Superman has his Kryptonite," he said, "and mine was ballroom. I got it again and again and again. But I conquered it with Heidi."
After Heidi and fellow finalist Donyelle Jones found out they weren't going to win, they stepped aside for Travis and Benji.
Shane Sparks, who had choreographed the duo's "Tranji" hip-hop performance, told them admiringly, "Y'all destroyed every style of dance."
Technically,
"I think Travis was resigned that [Benji winning] was going to happen," said his mother.
"But the exposure has been amazing," said Wall, who owns a dance studio in
Wall expected to see her son last night, again depending on his schedule. "He had to do interviews this morning," she said. "A lot of press."
Travis, along with his co-competitors, also had to move from the condo they'd lived in the last three months. They were originally scheduled to have about 10 days off before the first "So You Think You Can Dance" tour opens.
That plan has changed, Wall said, because now the four finalists - Travis, Benji, Donyelle and Heidi - will perform Sunday night on Fox's "Teen Choice Awards."
So, she said, she has no clue when her son will be back in
Then it's on to
In the meantime, Travis? Call your mother.
